Two men sentenced for wheat theft in Deer Lodge
L. E. Grooms and Stanley Ragsdale were each sentenced to one to two years at hard labor in the state penitentiary in Deer Lodge by Judge R. M. Hattersley. The case involved three counties Teton Pondera and Cascade and a theft of 159 bushels of wheat from Tom Klette near the Dutton area.

Choteau to Get Two Cream Stations Opened Soon
Two new cream stations are planned for Choteau. The Stop and Shop rear location in operation is run by Sun River Creamery of Great Falls with George Lindseth in charge. A Swift & Company station at the old Schuyler Carson residence will be run by W E Pinnell with plans to open late this week or early next, handling cream eggs and dressed poultry in addition to live poultry.

Mrs M Emaar Succumbs To Chronic Heart Ailment
Mrs M Emaar wife of rancher M Emaar died Wednesday evening at E B Maynard hospital after a long heart illness aggravated by flu. A Holland native born in Rotterdam 44 years ago last April she came to the United States in 1914 and worked as a nurse in the 1918 flu epidemic. She married M Emaar March 31 1919 at Chateau and lived on the T S Gap ranch. Funeral services set for Monday at 12 30 at the Methodist church with Dutch Lutheran minister aiding.

Oscar Joanis of the Stop and Shop grocery returns from Owensboro Kentucky with the remains of his wife who died in Choteau on December 5. He reached Great Falls Friday and was brought to Choteau Saturday. The funeral was at the First Baptist church in Owensboro on Monday with interment in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pioneer Nels Johnson Neer Dies in Choteau Hospital
Nels Johnson a pioneer settler of Burton bench and once a large landowner in Teton County diedWednesday night in Choteau hospital from kidney trouble and pneumonia. He was born in Sweden about 71 or 72 years ago and emigrated to Minnesota before coming to Montana in 1894. He later resided in Florida and returned briefly to visit relatives. He was a widower with no children. a sister Mrs Carl Hanson of Farmington and a nephew Vic Hanson survive. Funeral arrangements had not been made by 11:30 AM.

Aged Inmate of County Poor Farm Dies Saturday
Frank Collins, 76, died Saturday at the county poor farm from old age infirmities after two paralytic strokes. Born May 3, 1852 in Middlesex New York, he left a wife and four children who all died of tuberculosis. He had an adopted son and a brother once in Spokane. He had wandered through carpentry hotel work and farming before admission eight years ago. He requested a peaceful end and was buried Monday at Chateau cemetery by Coroner Charles H. Connor.

Bole led the Christmas seal sale with 57 percent of seals sold in the Met during the campaign’s second week, Chateau second at 45 percent. Total receipts reached 470 dollars by Wednesday, with 426 reported earlier and 60.66 dollars in postage and envelopes this year. Billings D P Fabrick president of the Western Agricultural company in charge of Bynum project returned last Friday from Billings where he visited the home office. He says Yellowstone county farmers enjoyed excellent bean crops with strong yields and top prices in industry history while the beet crop was below normal. The sugar factory closed its season during his stay and its whistle blew for an hour at 4 30.

Wool Pool Will Close Contracts on Jan 10
The 1929 wool pool in Teton county will close contracts January 10 announced by County Agent Robert Clarkson. By Tuesday 36 contracts were signed covering 9640 fleeces, with about 15 900 fleeces expected when signing ends. The sales committee chaired by Lars Wood will reject clips not in marketable condition.
