The Fairfield Eagles defeated Chateau 62 to 45 to claim the Chateau high school tourney crown. Kermit Young scored 21 and Austin Adams added 14 for Fairfield while Tony Jaconetty led Chateau with 16. Chateau shot 27.3 percent from the field and trailed by four after the first period.

California Man Draws Suspended Two Year Sentence
John Armstrong of San Jose received a two year suspended sentence on a forgery charge after restitution on the checks issued. Sheriff Tom Dellno returned Armstrong from San Jose to appear before Judge W. M. Black in district court Friday.

Fairfield Man Dies After One Car Tip Over
Clyde Benjamin Drollinger 76, of Fairfield, dies from injuries after a one car accident Saturday on an oiled highway near the Louis Miller farm. The State Fish and Game Commission will open the J. C. Salmond ranch west of Chateau for elk hunting of either sex on Saturday, Dec. 21. The season runs until Jan 31, 1958 and continues February 1958 for antlered bulls. Hunters must have a valid elk tag and license.
