A Teton county delegation including D P Fabrick R E Nelson L E Taylor H J Stafford and A W Walker attended a Montanans Inc district meeting in Shelby with Mr Nelson named county chairman. District counties are Teton Pondera Glacier Liberty and Toole. George Hoyt Shelby attorney was named to represent the district at Helena. D P Fabrick spoke on the Marias river irrigation project and a Capitol cafe banquet followed with about 40 attendees.

Community Christmas Tree Erected Tuesday
A 20-foot community tree was brought from the mountains by a Scout delegation and erected in front of the courthouse for the third year. Frank Stearny and E. W. Allen wired the tree with many colored lights. Scouts plan a Christmas Eve program with carols and distribution of nuts and candy. Lions Club and American Legion each donated 5 toward treats, with additional gifts anticipated.

Post adds nine dues bringing 1937 membership to date
Nine more members paid their 1937 dues, bringing the post total to 25 with 36 quota likely to be surpassed soon. A smoker event is planned for the next meeting and Pat Campbell of Pendroy was named chairman of arrangements. The group also seeks social activities with the American Legion auxiliary this winter. M. S. Bullerdick presided in the absence of Carrol, retiring commander honored for two years of service.

Construction Work On Eureka Reservoir Underway
Construction on the Eureka reservoir dam began last Monday about 10 miles northwest of Chateau. The $20,000 project is a joint effort of the State Water Conservation board and the Teton Cooperative Canal company with 35 farmer shareholders. The board loans $14,000. farmers fund the rest, paying $100 per share or by work and equipment use. About 25 men and 8 to 10 farmer trucks are on site, with peak employment near 35. A camp mess house run by Mrs. Grover Forgey is established. work depends on weather. The 1400 foot long dam will rise 30 feet, moving 50,000 cubic yards of earth, faced with riprap rock and gravel.

Joseph E. Mayo 26, husband of Opal Moore Mayo of Choteau died in a San Francisco hospital from double pneumonia after marrying Opal in October. Funeral plans were set for 2 p.m. today in Butte as Mayo’s father, mother, and sisters mourn.

A Teton County wheat producers association was organized at the courthouse last Saturday. W D Reiquam was elected president with W H Wellenstein as vice president and Chas F Proff as secretary treasurer. The group plans to affiliate with a state Wheat Producers association and will campaign countywide for members. Committees were named in 12 communities with two representatives each and a possible third member.
