Hospital District Board and Teton Memorial Meet on X-Ray Project

The Teton County Hospital District Commission and the Teton Memorial Hospital Board agreed to keep both bodies active with the board guiding hospital needs. They will solicit bids for x-ray equipment installation and remodeling in the new department, costing about 50 000 dollars with Lutheran Hospitals and Homes contributing 40 000 and the Hospital Board 10 000.

Holiday Season Blood Drawing In Chateau Tuesday

Chateau area residents are reminded of the Holiday Blood Drive to be held Tuesday December 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Rainbow Girls will babysit, and the drive is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary with the Red Cross reflecting the nationwide need during the holidays.

Chateau High School Christmas Concert Set for Sunday

The Chateau High School music department hosts a Christmas concert Sunday December 19 at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. The program features the band choir modern choir and a recorder ensemble with Jolene Isakson singing Some Children See Him. The choirs travel to Great Falls for a KRTV tape and KSEN radio Christmas Day airing.

Bob Pearson Elected To MSU Student Senate

Bozeman Montana State University student Bob Pearson from Chateau was elected to the student senate for a one year term. He was among ten senators chosen in the campus election. A sophomore majoring in agricultural production, he is the son of Mr and Mrs Marvin Pearson of Choteau.

Sidney Hanson Services Held Here Tuesday

Funeral services for Sidney F. Hanson 54 were officiated by Rev Marlow Engberg at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday December 14. Hanson died of asphyxiation and exertion when his stuck pickup blocked him on a road near Dutton. He was born August 14 1918 in Chateau and lived in the Bole area in childhood. He worked in construction most of his life and married Norma Black in December 1946 in Great Falls. Survivors include his wife daughter Sandra step mother Ellen Hanson sisters Edna Gelsinger Ina Morris Ruth Lindseth Judy Morris Evnie Damdhen Florence Ackerman Lila Parks Ellen Hanson and brothers Herbert Raymond Carl Marvin Don. Burial at Chateau Cemetery under Banks Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Darrel Goodmundson Dick Schuler Mike Weeks Laurence Trebesch Jim Nowlin Ernest Dale.

Lutheran Services Held for A Arensmeyer in Trinity Church

Funeral services for Adolph Gustave Arensmeyer 75 were held Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial followed at Chateau Cemetery with graveside military rites by C James Smith Post 6 American Legion. He was born January 12 1896 in DeWitt Nebraska and moved to Montana in 1911. He died December 9 at Teton Memorial Hospital.

Ron Lehnerz Named WMC Football Team MVP

Thirty eight Western Montana College players received 1971 letters at the Awards Assembly in the WMC auditorium. Ron Lehnerz of Chateau was voted the most valuable offensive man and earned a spot on the All Front ier second team offensive unit. Doug Sabo, Scott Cornell, Wayne Loeffler and Bill Schlepp were among others honored.

The Bulldogs defeated Sunburst 71 to 62 and Valier 64 to 49 last weekend. Key players included Chuck Young and Pete Hartman with double figures, while Ken Kovatch led Valier with 15 points.

Rex Manuel, chairman of the Teton County ASC, announced the 1972 ASC community committeemen results. Diamonds Valley to Fairfield list five leaders each, with positions naming chairman, vice, regular member, and alternates, and county officers named for 1972.

Fairfield Highway Design Seeks Federal Approval

The Montana Highway Commission requests design approval from the Federal Highway Administration for a 9.6 mile section of U S 89 from near Freezout Lake to east of the Teton Cascade county line through Fairfield. The two lane route along Parkway street will add curbs gutters storm sewer and sidewalks. Federal approval is needed before bids are sought and construction proceeds.

Shongs Buy Wagon Wheel Bar in Chateau

Mr and Mrs Frank Shong of Great Falls have purchased the Wagon Wheel Bar in Chateau from Mr and Mrs Henry Jensen. The Shongs, long time Great Falls residents, sought to leave the city and chose Chateau for the purchase after being impressed by the town.

Teton Pass Opening Set

Teton Pass will open for skiing this Saturday December 18 according to Dr J R Crabtree. Most slopes had ample snow earlier this week but more snow would improve other runs and any fresh snowfall will help all slopes. All facilities will be in full operation for the weekend debut of the season.
