Senator T O Larson of Chateau, Teton County, becomes acting governor of Montana as Governor Stewart visits the east for a governors conference and Lt Governor McDowell is away in Washington seeking support for a homestead law. Larson heads to Helena to assume duties until their return.

Francis Oliver Elkins died at his home in Chateau Gap on Monday. Born December 12, 1883 in Atlanta Kansas, he moved to the homestead in Teton County in 1913 with his family. He married Rebecca Grace Sphar on December 12, 1909 in Atlanta, leaving three children Francis Lee, Stephen L, and Fay. Funeral services were held at the I C O F hall with interment in Choteau cemetery.
