Chateau merchants sponsor Shoppers Day on Saturday December 13 offering Christmas merchandise bargains a free kid show and a Santa Claus visit. The free 1 pm screening of Smokey and two cartoons plus a Santa appearance staged at the Roxy Theatre with routes via the airport jeep depending on weather. Boy Scouts helped bag cinema candy as chamber members organize the event with George Eichhorn as chairman and Jim Dellwo Bob Kerr and Al Hensley on the committee.

Yule Choir to Present Christmas Concert Sunday
Trinity Lutheran Church in Cho teau hosts a Christmas concert by the 30 voice Trinity Lutheran choir directed by Marge Hanusa. Born 1901 in West Ampton Micn Veronica Bentfield moved to Teton County in 1925 and later worked for J C Penney and Lor Shoppe. Surviving are husband Anton son Sylvester daughter Marian and siblings. Bill Browninng Montana Chamber manager and Neil Wall will speak at a Lions Club Choteau meeting with invited officials to discuss freight rates tourism oil leasing and upcoming legislation. Fire damages home of former Choteau man in Missoula
A fire at Marlow H. Randall's Missoula residence caused extensive damage after spreading from a basement stove to walls and a stairway. Firemen battled flareups Friday and Saturday with smoke and wallboard ignitions. Randall, formerly of Choteau, worked for Dale Implement Co. before moving to Missoula two years ago.

The Choteau school will present a Christmas program next Thursday night at 8 in the high school auditorium. Directed by George Bowring, the program features the high school chorus and band, with songs by grades five through eight and the grade school band. D. P. Dick Fabrick a former member of the State Water Conservation board was named president of the Montana Reclamation Association at the state convention in Helena which concluded Tuesday. As vice president he urged attainment of the greatest beneficial uses for all Montana waters and noted the group aims to foster fullest water use in coordination with the state board and the National Reclamation Association. Twenty two districts were represented by 128 MRA delegates as sessions ran from Sunday to Tuesday.
