Dauwalder Daughters Wed in Joint Ceremony

The double wedding occurred at the First Methodist church in Cha teau with Rev. Harold L. Engdahl officiating and about 300 guests present. The ceremony featured twin egg shell satin gowns, chrysanthemums and orchids in bouquets, and attendants in fuchsia and aqua.

Mountain Front Well on Saypo Structure Drilled to 3531 Feet

Farmers Union Central recently plugged and abandoned its Saypo structure well in the mountains west of Chateau after drilling to 3531 feet over 100 days. Geologists note the well reentered the top Colorado shale and may require drilling the section again plus under lying formations before reaching Madison Lime. Estimated exploration cost is $100,000 with a mud plug and remote possibility of deeper drilling next spring.

Trap Shoot Slated On Hill In Choteau This Sunday

A ham and chicken shoot starts at 10 am Sunday at the Golf course hill in Choteau. Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Choteau Post, with the VFW auxiliary serving lunch to participants and guests. Two shoots are planned in Choteau during December.

Arthur Habel Dies. Rites Conducted In Dutton Church

Arthur Habel 61 of Dutton died Tuesday afternoon at a Great Falls hospital after a short illness from coronary thrombosis. He was buried from St Williams Catholic Church in Dutton with a Requiem Mass and burial at Mount Olivet cemetery. He was active in civic groups including the Farmers Union, Boy Scouts, 4-H, and Lions Club, and held multiple Knights of Columbus memberships. Surviving are two sons, two daughters, and several relatives from Wisconsin and Washington.

Norma Gray Weds GP Oil Employee in December Nuptials

Norma Gray wife of the late Buf ford Gray of Chateau married Duane Deileman of York Nebraska an employee of General Petroleum Corp here. Justice J G Jackson performed the ceremony with Ladine Steve and Violet Steward as witnesses. The bride once ran Parkway cafe and worked at Choteau Drug. They plan to relocate to York after oil operations end, where the groom will run a furniture store owned by his uncle.

Ben Benson Service Set at Trinity Lutheran Church

Funeral services for Ben Benson 16 will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Choteau with Rev. A. B. Gravdal officiating. Burial will follow in Choteau cemetery. Benson, born in Norway, came to the United States at 16 and moved to Teton county in 1916. Immediate survivors include his wife Anna Benson and a sister in Great Falls. Pallbearers are Paul Mathis Ralph Clayton Ole Kolste Louis Hallberg Carl Carlson and Fred Swenson.

Record of Choteau Bulldogs honored at Legion banquet

Great Falls recreation director Kenneth Fowell praised coach Howard Ruegamer and the Choteau Bulldogs at a Legion banquet for district champion football. The team, lauded for spirit and fair play, received a T-Bone dinner and film highlights as co-captains Clifton Swanson and Red Woodward were named.

Auxiliary Monday program honors Legion colors dedication

The December American Legion auxiliary meeting drew many members and guests. New members elected include Mrs. Bob Armstrong Mrs. Elliot Reyer Mrs. Joe LaRance and Mrs. Emily Kenny. A 25 cent per member Christmas collection raised 17.25 for Fort Harrison men. Carol songs, a Red Cross aid plan, and treats for children were part of the evening. The program honored Legion quarters providers and the new colors with poems songs and a presentation.

Jane Le Desky daughter of Mr and Mrs J L LeDesky and Richard Dale son of Mr and Mrs John Date of Chateau wed at 5 o clock Wednesday night Nov 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev Bernard Gravdal officiated the double ring ceremony. Phylis Dale and Wayne LeDesky attended. The couple planned a dinner at Beaupre cafe and will reside in Byrne's apartments after a honeymoon.

Methodist Groups Plan Special Service To Install Officers

A special service is set for Sunday night December 7 at 7 30 in the Methodist church to install 1948 officers for the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the Wesleyan Service Guild. The Methodist Youth Fellowship will honor Betty Phillips, youth delegate to the Cleveland youth conference, at the same service. Candle lighting ceremonies are open to the public and families are urged to attend, followed by refreshments.

Three-Act Comedy Set For School Auditorium Tonight

Band Director Outlines Needs of School Bands

Nine local groups attended a band booster meeting at the courthouse as band director Wilbert Maynard detailed needs for the Choteau school bands. Projects include uniforms and instruments costing about 1200 dollars with an estimated total of 1200. Five volunteers formed the executive committee led by Ed Obernolte with Lorraine Maynard and others.

Lois wore Alice blue wool crepe. baby orchid corsage. Attendants were Mrs. Troy French and Mary Ann Smith. After a reception, the couple will reside in Hardin. Lois is Montana State College alumna and former county home agent. Vern Bruswen served in the army intelligence service in Germany and has re enlisted. Youth Night at Moose hall moved to Thursday.
