Forest fire tale from Lt McLean recounts Little Rockies devastation
Forest Ranger L H McLean and family recalled the Little Rockies fire last summer describing two fires that burned 24000 acres within the Judith River district. The Belts fire required 200 men and 340 acres of containment. Timber losses reach 1.5 to 2 million feet and affect mining later.

Misa Mabel Breding daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Breding of Agawam married Lambert Toren son of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Toren of Conrad in a Thanksgiving Day ceremony at the Presbyterian church parsonage in Conrad. Rev D S McCorkle officiated with Dorothy Breding and Lorraine Breding providing song and guitar. The couple planned to honeymoon in Spokane and the coast before settling on a farm east of Farmington. Mabel is a 1934 graduate of Teton County High School and studied at Great Falls Commercial College. Lambert attended school in Conrad and Great Falls. Mrs H L Stafford underwent Mayo Clinic treatment in Rochester Minn on November 19 and is recovering.

Bond Indebtedness Cut To Lower Point In Teton County
County Treasurer Elmer C. Smith announces a reduction of Teton county bonded indebtedness to 7000 dollars after January 1 1937 by calling in two 1000 dollar school bonds and five 1000 dollar road fund bonds. High school bonds drop from 100000 to 6000 outstanding and road fund bonds from 150000 to 12000. Redeemable serial refinancing bonds of 31000 remain, with only enough to pay half now and earliest July first for the next yearly installment.

Christmas Seal Drive in County Led by Mrs. Walker
Mrs. A W Walker of Fairfield chairs the Teton county Christmas seal sale now under way. About 800 letters with a dollar’s worth of seals were mailed to county residents as Katy Walker coordinates local support and the Montana Anti Tuberculosis Association oversees the campaign. Proceeds support tuberculin X ray surveys dental work and health education with most funds staying in Montana. The 1934 county total was around 300 dollars. last year about 260 dollars. A goal of 25000 dollars is set for the state.

Navy Seaman Yeager Home For Thanksgiving Visit
William W. Yeager known as Bus ter, visiting Choteau during a 20 day furlough from the U S Navy. He served three years with the navy after graduating from Teton County High School in 1932 and earlier served on the Biddle before joining the Dewey destroyer. He traveled from Mare Island to California then to Denver Spokane and San Francisco to spend Thanksgiving with his father C. D. Yeager and grandparents Mr and Mrs Wm Krofft.

Automobile Wreck Damages Malta Car Injures Phil I Cole
A bicycle rider caused an accident near Malta last week sending Phil I Cole to hospital with a broken collar bone. The collision with a truck forced Cole’s car off the grade, overturning and damaging the vehicle while both occupants received aid and later drove the car to Choteau after repairs.
