Dutton Farmer Highlighted for Charolais Cattle Ventures
Lloyd DeBruycker, a Dutton area farmer, is profiled in the July Western Livestock Journal for his Charolais focus. The piece covers his sale of bulls to area ranchers, calf retention and resale, and his push into custom feed lots via North Montana Feeders, Inc. It notes calving weight concerns, a low birth weight bull, and his aim to finish cattle to profitable weights. Baker, Chateau neighbor John Baker, reports Charolais calves and compares losses on heifers bred to black bulls, while Baker contemplates using DeBruycker’s feedlot approach if prices justify it.
