Midland Empire wheat crop big yields and heavy grain
Wheat arrivals at Billings elevators show yields of 25 to 40 bushels per acre on irrigated land with many beans weighing 58 to 62 pounds. Non irrigated fields lag, threshing slow due to rain, farmers holding grain for better prices as 5,000 to 6,000 bushels daily are expected. The Russell Miller Milling Co reports 1,200 to 1,500 bushels of spring wheat daily with good quality.
