Defendants in Liquor Actions Petition Court for Return of Evidence
Defendants in four liquor actions petitioned Judge John J. Greene for return of seized evidence. The petitions claim the Sheriff violated rights by taking stills mash moonshine and other material without proper authority. Seizures occurred at Scott’s Chateau home and at properties of Underwood Strong and Wilson on dates in May June and July. No further details beyond the hearing date September 13 are provided.

Aged Burton Bench resident Mrs. Luinstra dies in Choteau
Mrs. J. Luinstra an 81 year old resident of the T. L. Gap and Burton Bench area died last Friday at Choteau hospital after a long illness. She was born in Holland came to the United States in 1899 and lived in Chicago before moving to Montana in 1906. Survived by sons Jacob and Sam Luinstra and 18 grandchildren. Funeral held Monday in Chateau with burial in Chateau cemetery. Card of thanks from Jacob and Sam Luinstra expresses gratitude for kindness and sympathy.

Dutton Hole To Be Shot In Oil Test
Beardsley well near Dutton at 2500 feet will be shot with nitrogen to assess oil potential. Drillers plan a final abandonment if the shot fails to prove commercial production. Mid-West deep test 12 miles west of Dutton progresses toward the Madison formation for a test of Teton ridge.

Brown and Bailey Ready to Move from Gypsy Well near Collins
Brown and Bailey, drilling contractors, completed pulling the casing at the Gypsy well west of Collins, plugged the hole, and plan to move equipment to the Kevin Sunburst field amid negotiations for three drilling contracts including a 4000 foot test. The Collins well reached the Madison limestone. Mr Brown and Mr Bailey with Mrs Bailey will spend a couple weeks in the mountains near Chateau before heading to the north field.

Brother of man missing from Burton bench leaves for home
S. J. Heins of Forreston Minnesota departed Chateau after a fruitless three week search for his brother R Heins 40 a bachelor who disappeared from his ranch near Warmington July 19. Sheriff Wm D Reiquam led a large area hunt with no trace found. Heins thanked locals and the sheriff for help and acknowledged the effort to locate his brother.

Burglars Loot Hirshberg Store Valued at $200
Burglars entered the Jos. Hirshberg & Co. store last Thursday night and made off with about $200 in goods. The haul included cotton belt items, shoes, boots, and sweaters. Sheriff Reiquam is investigating, suspecting outside culprits.

A second big series of wool growers meetings is planned in Montana this fall. The Chateau meeting is October 29 in Bozeman area, with County Agent Robert Clarkson leading and help from an expert from Bozeman. Discussions will cover corn and cottonseed cake as alfalfa hay tonics and fleeces will be exhibited with notes on desirable characteristics.

James G Innes dies in Great Falls hospital
James G Innes aged 49 a former Chateau resident died Sunday at Deaconess hospital Great Falls after a long illness. Born May 3 1874 in Lake City Minnesota he lived in St Paul before moving to Chateau in 1915. He served as deputy county assessor assessor and under sheriff and held public office roles across Teton county. He leaves a wife Helen and four children. Funeral services at Great Falls were followed by Masonic rites in Chateau.
