In the republican primary Wm D Reiquam led with 593 votes to a combined 624 for Murchie Wymer and Ward. Coffey beat Packer and Halpin for county attorney 488 to 356 and 229. Crane defeated Crittenden 552 to 329 for county commissioner. Sulgrove won district judge nomination with 529 to 211 against closest rival. Democratic results saw Jim Collins Sheriff race winner with 188 to Price 33.

TWO YAAK RANCHERS FINED FOR FIRE TRESPASS
In Misenuta Montana on August 26 Sam Runyan homesteader and Tra Werhet rancher living on the Yaak River were found guilty of allowing fire to spread on National Forest land. Judge Richard Ot Trey Vontana imposed fines of 30 and 21 respectively. Forest Service officials and Ranger Sonsley led the arrests. Nearly acres were burned by the fires.

Fairfield residents injured in head on collision on Lange Hill
Hughes of Fairfield driving alone toward Sun River crossing collided head on with a Krausen touring car carrying Mr and Mrs Krausen and three children. Both vehicles were badly damaged and Hughes was found unconscious after being thrown from the wreck. The Krausen girl suffered a severe arm cut while Hughes and the girl were taken to Choteau for medical care.

Alleged dynamiters bound for district court
Henry Kind and Terman Trolfes of Dutton were bound over to district court to answer a dynamite charge after a preliminary hearing. Pete Peirae, arrested with them and previously charged, was released after evidence indicated lack of involvement. The group allegedly took dead trout from Spring Creek north of Chateau after an underwater dynamite blast. Bail set at $500 for the two defendants. Magee acted as attorney for Kind and Holfes.
