Teton Medical Center Dedication Draws Local Attendance

About 200 people attended the August 25 dedication and open house for the new Teton Medical Center at Chateau. The outdoor ceremony featured nearly a dozen speakers, a ribbon cutting, and a tour of the modern facility with 22 short term beds and 24 long term beds in double rooms.

The Virtu Gift and Book Shop opens in the Russell Building rooms formerly Chateau Photo. Hours are Wed 6 9 pm Fri 1 5 and 6 9 pm Sat 9 am 6 pm Sun 1 6 pm. Items include gifts books local art on consignment and teas with winter art classes planned.

Lanes Sold In Teton County To New Managers

Arvid and Kay Sundet sold A and K Lanes to Richard and Laura Page and Steve Larson, effective immediately. Larson will manage and the business will operate as A E Lanes with an opening date set for September 1 for the new season. The Sundets opened the alley on September 3, 1956, and installed automatic pinsetters in November 1957.

Registration Notice for Chateau Elementary Pupils

Parents must register new pupils on Thursday August 25 from 8 30 am to noon and 1 to 4 30 pm. Entry ages are 5 for kindergarten and 6 for first grade with no prior public schooling. Required documents include birth certificates and a medical exam with state forms. Vaccination now required includes measles polio diphtheria tetanus and whooping cough.

The Cha teau United Methodist Church invites the congregation to a Sunday church wide picnic after the 11 a.m. worship service on the parsonage lawn across from the church. Crowells Reopen Teton Trail Gift Shop Details

The Teton Trail Art and Gift Shop re opens this week with Dave and Bev Crowell as operators. Located on the Teton Trail Museum property it will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through September and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday starting October. The shop offers art supplies Montana history and art history books at discount prices and features a new display of British Columbia Jade plus Montana pottery antique clocks Arizona turquoise and frames. A grand opening will occur when more merchandise arrives and guest artists are featured periodically. Local amateur artists may submit drawings of Teton Trail Village with a $25 Savings Bond prize. Further information can be obtained at the Gift Shop. Public invited to visit and meet the Crowells.

Congressman Marlenee to Visit Choteau for Listening Session

Congressman Ron Marlenee will visit Choteau on Tuesday August 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. He plans a Listening Session at the Choteau Library to hear from local residents and discuss his duties representing the people.

Great Falls Woman Killed In Car Truck Crash

A tractor trailer carrying sheep collided with a late model Ford station wagon eight miles north of Chateau on U S 89. Mrs Gail Pfister died from impact, her son Robert H Pfister and Diane Godec were injured. the truck driver Joel Amball and passenger Jacob Kleinsasser were involved, with several sheep killed. The wreck blocked the highway for hours as authorities investigated.
