Choteau High School and Chateau Elementary announce student registration for the upcoming year. Registration runs Aug. 25–26 in the high school main lobby with specific times by class and options for rural bus students. An orientation on Sept. 6 precedes full classes. The activity fee remains six dollars to support co curricular programs.

The Teton Christian School will start classes in the first week of September. A public meeting is set for Tuesday August 23 at 8 p.m. in the Chateau pavilion where administrator Ivan W. White and teacher will explain operation, tuition, and curriculum to attendees.

Chateau Public Schools Set to Open Tuesday Sept 6
The 1977 78 term begins at 9 a m Tuesday with a full first day. Buses run on regular schedules and arrive at school 8 45 to 8 50 a m. afternoon drivers wait to 4 10 p m. New staff include Superintendent Dr Jim Keef who took over July 1 replacing retired Robert Gormley. Choteau High adds three teachers including Chet Wayne, a veteran educator with Peabody award winning radio program and experience in drama and film. Wayne holds degrees from University of Denver and has done work at Michigan State University. Additional details follow.

Chateau High School Ball Practice Begins Next Week
Football and girls basketball practice start Monday August 22 with sessions at 7am for football and 4pm for girls under coaches Rich Dean and Lee Reynolds. Freshmen, sophomores, and seniors receive equipment on various days. Physical exams run Friday August 19 10 am to 12 noon at Chateau Clinic.

An open house and dedication will open the new Teton Medical Center with events at 1 30 p m Saturday Aug 20. If weather fails the program moves indoors to the high school auditorium. Teton Trail Museum Changes Ownership
The Teton Trail Museum has a new owner, Ruth Oblander of La Grange Hl, effective Aug 1. She plans to expand tourism and retire in Choteau after a Chicago assignment, with her relatives keeping the museum open in summer. The gift shop and boutique will be run by Dave and Beverly Crowell, featuring Montana’s Own works and turquoise jewelry. An opening is planned for September as fall work ends.

Swim-a-Thon Rescheduled By Chateau Swimmers
The Chateau swimmers rebook the swim-a-thon to Sunday to raise funds for a new boiler. Bantam and midgets begin at 12 noon, junior swimmers from 2 until 5, and intermediates to alumni from 5 until 11 pm. Proceeds go to the boiler fund.
