J M Baker Co reports No 1 hard spring wheat at 1.25 in Chateau. Cool, damp weather stalls harvest and threshing across the county, keeping grain from ripening and little going to elevators. In the eastern county, some grain hauled and shipped with yields up to 42 bushels per acre near Power.

Stephen Matecko Dies After Long Illness
Stephen Matecko of Anaconda died Tuesday morning at Glenloyd hospital in Choteau after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. and burial in Choteau cemetery. He worked in Butte and Anaconda mines and smelter and recently in a brick yard. Matecko, visiting two daughters near Power, had been ill for years with miners consumption. He leaves a 3 year old son in an Helena orphanage and two daughters with Mr and Mrs Scarrow. Pallbearers will be Moose lodge members.

Pendroy School District seeks annexation for new school area
Petitions filed with County Superintendent Edythe Saylor seek to add eight and a half sections to Pendroy District 61. The move, supported by trustees W. J. Earls and J. R. Jones and clerk J. A. Swanson, targets land from Districts 41 69 and 12 to provide a new school for northwest residents who currently lack access. Local Physician Attends Trachoma Clinic at Browning
Dr H W Bateman returned from Browning after attending a trachoma clinic for Indian Service doctors led by Dr Fox of Philadelphia. Over 200 patients were examined and more than 100 operated on. Fox noted the private-practice value would be about $40,000.

He heard a foreclosure action Triplett versus Bliss and a divorce action Irene Perrin versus Clarice Perrin. Decrees were granted for the plaintiffs. Ewing spent Tuesday as Greene’s guest on a fishing trip up the Teton.

Bids for a five room frame cottage and a three stall garage at Beaver Creek dam for the federal reclamation service will be opened in Fairfield on August 30. Contracts were approved to start preliminary construction with total project costs around 3 million dollars and a government cap of 9.5 million for construction and operation. Farmers' Association Ships Four More Cars of Cattle
Four cars carrying 112 head of cattle were shipped from Teton county via the Great Northern to South St. Paul by the Teton County Shipping association. Cars loaded at Chateau Bynum and Bole carried 56 head, 26 head, and 30 head respectively. Fifteen, four, and ten farmers contributed to the Château Bynum and Bole consignments. The season’s fifth shipment supports a profitable pooling plan that boosts returns by 7 to 15 dollars per head.
