Marine First Lieutenant Arthur W. Zimmerman, 26, son of Fairfield residents, earned the Silver Star for gallantry at Iwo Jima. A Cub Scout ceremony and camp at Spring Creek grove near the Legion pavilion drew 68 attendees including many parents.
