News from Montana reports the Shriners of the state met in Butte on August 9 for their annual conclave. About 75 novitiates were invited. The event featured a large procession with unusual elements.
The International Typographical Union held its fifty third session in Hot Springs Arkansas on April 12. Delegates from across the country attended with relatives and friends, totaling an estimated 3 000 people.
The first shipment of range cattle reached Chicago from Belle Fourche South Dakota. Thirty one cars arrived in poor condition yet sold well above last year with prices around 84.75 and tailings at 4.30. Spayed heifers sold at 1.60 and another shipment averaged 1.95, marking a 55 cent rise from a year ago and 85 cents from two years ago.

The stockholders of the Eton Co operative Reservoir Co. met in Hodgs kiss hall Saturday afternoon. Trustees reelected: Carlos Warfield Thos Larson Ole Wagnild N Tuttle and J Hirshberg. Officers named: Carlos Warfield president N Tutties vice president JB Kirshberg treasurer James Sulgrove secretary. Work to date approved and dam and canal project to continue toward completion.
Telegram brings news of Mrs Jos Hirshberg death in Helena after paralysis illness. She had lived in Fort Benton and Nelena and was well known across western Montana. Funeral services will be held at her Helena residence tomorrow.
A Wednesday evening blaze erupted in O. M. Nordbagen’s tailor shop when a lamp exploded while Oscar Germanson visited the Hodgskiss House. Fire with gasoline fumes caused near total loss of the shop interior with an estimated $250 damage and Germanson suffering a severe burn to his right hand. A northwest wind aided rapid spread but quick extinguisher work prevented wider damage.
