More than twenty players turned out last Sunday for a postponed preliminary horseshoe event on Main Avenue. County Agent Robert Clarkson outlines a two week format with 24 participants split into three groups of eight, leading to a final six for August 17.

Firebugs Active in Pinkham Creek Forests July
Missoula August 5 Pinkham Creek district in the Kootenai and Blackfeet Forests again centers of incendiary fires. A July 15 wet line of fires stretched seven miles, about 150 separate blazes started as weather turned severe. Incendiarism is chronic here with 60 fires in 1921 and 80 in 1922. Patrols and area closure under federal order aim to deter arson, catch offenders, and save homes, forests, and residents property.
