Sudden Death Of Paul Jacobson Shocks Tejon County

Paul Jacobson clerk of court for Tejon county died after a car crash while driving home from Farmington Monday night. He was found pinned under the vehicle and died two hours later from internal injuries. brakes may have failed causing a bridge miss and rollover. He lived in Montana and was aged about 44. He left a wife and daughter and was buried in Bellingham Washington after funeral arrangements follow arrival. He had served as deputy clerk of cost and as republican nominee for clerk, with prior work as auctioneer and in merchandising.

Embargo Orders Issued On Rail Shipments

The Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul Railway Co announces an embargo on shipments of livestock perishables flour and foodstuffs due to impending igor troubles. Other railways are expected to issue similar orders shortly. The city council decided to strictly enforce an ordinance banning driving by persons under sixteen at Monday night meeting.

Emergency Office at Billings Aids Drouth Trade

Montana State College and USDA open an emergency office in Billings to serve stockmen and farmers. Washington Aug 5 American soldiers killed in action who were victims of gas number 756 according to a War Department announcement today The average age of all the men killed was 23 years The total missing in action July 31 was 241.

Park to Park Road Signs Arrive for Tourist Route

Signs marking the park to park route have arrived and will be set along the route to guide tourists. Camping signs are ready for placement. H M Albright and Max Goodsill visited after a Glacier park Y B line convention decided to connect Glacier and Bann via road. A Brooklyn party raised 3000 dollars to fund the road. The rains improved the grade north and west of town for speedway use.

Civil Service Forest and Field Clerk Examination

The U S Civil Service Commission will hold a forest and field clerk exam in this city on August 26 1919 to fill vacancies in the reclamation and forest services. Salary ranges from 1.00 to 1500 dollars for clerks in forest and reclamation services. Both men and women may apply.
