Wallace Coffey Buys Historic Ranch Property
Wallace Coffey, son of late George M. Coffey, purchased 4620 acres west of town from George B. Schadmann. The block includes the 2700 acre Burrell place and 1920 acres from multiple sellers at about 7.50 per acre, creating one of the county’s largest ranches. The Burrell tract is tied to Te ton county’s first patent in 1882 and features a notable early homestead. Coffey plans a sheep operation with Rambouillet stock, irrigation, and new improvements, and will move to the ranch with plans to run power lines from the city. The deal is the largest in recent Te ton county years.

Power-Morgan store robbed Wednesday night
The Power-Morgan store was burglarized during Wednesday night with over 1500 dollars in checks and about 300 dollars in cash stolen. Entry was gained by prying a south side window to reach the safe room. the safe was hacked but some cash was left in a drawer. Fingerprint collection was planned by officials including Under Sheriff J L Billings and County Attorney George M Coffey.

Pondera Field Shows Five Producing Wells
Completion of two wells in the Pondera county field over the weekend raised producers to five. Continental Development Giulia No 2 and Gjullin No 2 lead the new output, with Gjullin No 1 producing about 75 barrels daily. Hirshberg No 2 by Texas Pacific Coal Oil Co adds about 50 barrels daily, tests at 1935 feet. Rig activity includes 18 rigs up with 12 drilling as California Petroleum and Ohio companies near new formations. Prominent drills include Kumpf, Kasper Kingsbury No 1, Peerless, Crocker, Continental Wheeler No 1, Rice State No 1, Continental Gruffin No 3.

Fractured Skull Suffered In Augusta Hold Up Attempt
W. C. Nett of Augusta was brought to Choteau hospital after two men attempted a hold up at the Jackson house in Augusta. Nett and Sam Huff were struck with a pipe wrench, rendering both unconscious. Nett’s condition was described as serious and authorities had not yet captured the attackers.

Dorothy Kersch five daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Kersch of Genoa Montana was killed Saturday afternoon when the car carrying her was struck head on by a opposite going car driven by Charles Gomokes Asnow merchant. The collision occurred on a hill near Dutton injuring no one else, and coroners investigation found no liability. The child's body was buried at Genoa after preparation in Chateau.
