New Spring Wheat Resists Sawfly Harvest Boost for Rescue Variety
Rescue, a hard red spring wheat resistant to sawfly, is being produced and increased in Montana under the Montana Seed Growers association. By 1948 seed should meet demand in sawfly areas. 9,000 acres were seeded this spring for seed increase. Tests show Rescue severely limits stem cutting compared with Ceres, Mida and Thatcher.
