The Choteau Little German Band, a public spirited group from Choteau and Bynum, raises funds for local causes with dances and music. They promote a July 2 and 3 Teton Memorial hospital benefit in the city park pavilion, with proceeds to Chateau hospital. The band also backs the Chateau high school band trip to Lethbridge and plans a June street dance. the city council has allotted 300 for new instruments and music.

Young Timers Meet May 7 in Teton County
The Young Timers of Teton County reschedule the annual Go Western meeting for May 7 after a March postponement due to weather. Dinner and entertainment follow a seven o clock start. Ray Davidson, ticket sales chairman, asks sub chiefs to return unsold tickets by Thursday morning May 5 to estimate guest counts.

John Rose Named Manager of Choteau Lockers
John Rose son of Martin Rose of Choteau has become manager of the Choteau Lockers at 21 First Street N W Choteau. He is an MSU and Choteau High School graduate and previously worked with the Montana Fish and Game Commission in public relations. Bert Reiner owner of the lockers has also acquired Salansky's Food Market at Conrad and will oversee that operation. The Choteau staff remains unchanged and Rose plans to stock more frozen foods for deep freezers and lockers.

Malta Rancher to Move to 1800 Acre Choteau Wheat Farm

Driver License Violations Result in Small Fines
In Police Magistrate J. M. Sul grove's court Jerry Fornall of Fairfield was fined 15 dollars for driving while his license was revoked. In Justice William Irwin's court Claude A. Anderson of Fairfield was fined 10 dollars for not having a valid license. John C. O'Hern of Great Falls also lacks a current license. Lester F. Scott of Chateau received a 15 dollar fine for careless driving.

Davison Heads Chateau Lions For Next Year
John Davison elected president of the Chateau Lions at a Tuesday night meeting in the Lions club hall. Little Annie Thompson Dies at Age 85
Funeral services for Ann Little Annie Lane Thompson 85 were held from St Stephens Episcopal church with Bishop Henry Daniels. She died after three weeks illness at Teton Memorial hospital. Born April 11 1870 in London she came to the United States in 1891 settling at Billings and later moved to Chateau. Survivors include two sons William Golder and Evan Thompson two daughters Eva Kregness and Hazel Jones and five grandchildren. She was active in St Stephens and Queen Rebekah Lodge No 31 and held 32 years of continuous Rebekah membership. Burial was in Chateau cemetery.

The Chateau high school band accepts an invitation to the Lethbridge music festival on Saturday May 28 with performances in the business district at 10 00 AM a parade at 1 30 PM and an evening concert at 8 00 PM They plan to depart Friday afternoon and return Sunday morning with travel estimated at 859 dollars funded by multiple groups including the Moose Lodge Women and the Chateau Chamber of Commerce plus local fundraisers by band students and a May 14 dance at the high school gymnasium to raise additional money.

Choteau Officer Detains Three Great Falls Teens
Three juveniles from Great Falls, two aged 17 and one 15, were picked up early Tuesday by Choteau Officer Morris Black after being seen prowling alleys. Jailed by Black, they were later placed with Probation Officer Claude Morris. Two were parole violators and were to be questioned about a Great Falls jewelry robbery. The car belonged to one boy’s father and had been taken without consent. the driver lacked a valid license.

Club Completes Installations at Eureka Reservoir
Members of the Teton Boat and Anglers club finished a dock at Eureka Reservoir built with five sections. A stock guard was added at the east lake entrance and the project included cleanup and new garbage barrels. Luinstra Brothers built the two ton rail structure with salvaged poles. local businesses supplied equipment and material. The effort, supported by the Teton Cooperative Canal Co, aims to boost outdoor recreation. The club’s annual meeting is set for April 29 to elect 1955 officers and hear committee reports.

Company F of the Guards answered a nationwide alert on April 20 with rapid mobilization.
