C B Wedum spoke for Chateau Chamber of Commerce and Teton Sportsmen’s Association at the April 15 meeting in East Glacier. Attendees included sportmen from Flathead, Glacier, Toole, Pondera and Teton counties with officials from the State Fish and Game Department and U S Forest Service. The committee backed Rep Lee Metcalf’s recreation bill, opposed Spruce Bark Dam, urged bear seasons, and proposed opening the upper Middle Fork hunting season September 15.

Bulldogs Triumph in Four Team Track Meet
The Choteau track team won a four way meet on April 20 defeating Fairfield Simms and Augusta at home. Jim Lohse set two school records in high hurdles and javelin while earning high point honors with 20½ points. Individual event results feature Bean and Whipple leading sprints and Lohse winning high hurdles with 16.7 seconds and other top placers across sprints jumps and throws.

Former Bynum Man Delbert G Green Dies at 62
Delbert G Green a World War I disabled veteran died suddenly April 17 at the family home in Deer Lodge. Born November 28 1894 in Tooele Utah he served with the A F in France and was wounded at the Argonne Forest ending his work career in 1941. He lived in Lava Hot Springs before moving to Deer Lodge. Survived by four brothers Gradon Green Bynum William Frank and Harry Green of Deer Lodge and several nieces and nephews.

Ernest J. Ginther, male farmer killed in a downhill tractor accident on the Clyde Allen farm 18 miles west of Fairfield, funeral held in Augusta Community Church with Rev. Grant S. Moore officiating. The 137th anniversary of Odd Fellowship was observed by over 100 members on April 21. A turkey dinner was served under Mrs. L H Bush with decorations by Vi Pedersen Leona Caskey and Mildred Inbody. The program featured Al Barton and Florene Stoudt, with community singing led by Irene McManus and musical numbers by Rodney Schilling David Knaff Wayne Carlson and the IOOF quartet. The pantomime included Wallace Thompson Ralph Caskey Louis Clough Leo Pierre Dick Conklin Glen Stoudt Beverly Davidson Exuma Meyers Joyce Curtis and Pete Huidekoper. Dancing followed with Oberwolte's orchestra and prizes drawn throughout the evening.
