New Law Bans Outsider Teachers for Montana Schools
A state law H B 474 requires school boards employ only residents of Montana or those who have lived in the state for a year, barring aliens or non citizens from public school employment. The move aims to ensure teachers, principals, and superintendents are state residents, with provisions allowing outside hires if qualified local staff are unavailable. The report notes accompanying guidance from M P Moe and the attorney general, urging current teachers to register as legal residents.
