Nyly County Board Proceedings April 8 1918

The Nyly Commissioners met in regular session at 10 a m at their office with Chairman Henry Radcliffe and Commissioners Savory and Ledgerwood present. They audited county officer reports and approved warrants and contracts including county printing with bond. road matters were discussed and actions taken to open and abandon several roads. library and Red Cross room use approved. resignations of county nurse and a justice of the peace noted. warrants reissued for lost funds. appraisers appointed for hail insurance. deputy registrars named to fill vacancies. subsequent adjournment scheduled for April 9.

Class One Will Furnish All Troops For The War

Washington reports General Crowder told the military committee that about 2,000,000 men will be placed in class one for the draft with 500,000 to 1,000,000 more annually expected. He said calls will mostly stay within the highest classes and those reaching 21 under new legislation. Nearly 20 percent of registrations would be in class one, with a significant share subject to duty under the bill now in Congress.
