County Board Creates Two New Roads In 1917 Session
On April 11 1917 the county board met at 10 and audited claims. They appointed viewers for two new roads Road No 280 starting at the northeast corner of section 138 township 24 north range 2 west and proceeding south 1 mile with Geo. Sollid and E S Whitacre as viewers Road No 281 starting at the southeast corner of section 4 township 24 north range 1 west and running about 4 1 2 miles to the Teton river with county surveyor Ben Feist.

Milwaukee Officials Inspect Local Branch In Progress
A party of Milwaukee officials visited the local branch on Wednesday to review territory work. Wendell Hartman dies of pneumonia at McGregor hospital
Wendell Ellsworth Hartman died Thursday in McGregor hospital from pneumonia. Born April 24, 1912 in Danforth JL, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hartman and came to Chateau with his parents who farmed land formerly owned by Schuler Carson. Funeral Saturday at M E church with Rev. W. E. Hall officiating. burial in Chateau cemetery. Sympathy to grieving parents.
