About 30 visiting youth are expected for the midyear Epworth League Institute to be held Friday through Sunday April 21 to 23. Rev. Horace Turner of Great Falls will serve as dean with courses on Personality, Labor, and Prayer. Delegates arrive Friday evening and a supper and series of worship and study periods follow. Delegates come from Augusta, Browning, Walier, Great Falls and Dutton. Kenneth Harmon is president with committees led by Lillian Shannon and Mary Elizabeth Edwards.

Teton county high placed second in the academic division of the 10th annual district scholarship meet in Great Falls with 22 points, while Fort Benton led with 39. Guy Gulbrandson won algebra in freshmen. Glen Inbody and Dora Irwin placed in geometry. Truchot and Hansen led in chemistry and literature respectively. several Teton students earned spots across junior senior subjects and vocational categories.

The Chateau Lions club votes 60 dollars in prizes for a yard and garden contest in Choteau. Rev Edwin Dover chairs the committee with entries prizes publicity and education members. Entries close April 29 with three classes defined amateur hiring help and large properties. Sweet pea seed for entrants, yard visits, phosphate fertilizer prizes later in summer, slogan You win if you lose. The club supports the national Yard and Garden Contest Association.

County agent Robert Clarkson reports Teton County farms are largely free of crop mortgages and better off than many in the state. Data from 70 federal seed loan applications show only five farmers mortgaged crops. About 77 of roughly 200 applicants had received checks to date.

Former Chateau Girl Dies in Great Falls Hospital
Mrs. Earl Butcher formerly Mildred Thompson died at Columbus hospital in Great Falls after a long illness. Born August 21, 1908 in White Farmh North Dakota she was 24 turning 25 and left behind husband Earl Butcher and daughter Bulah. Funeral services were held in Shelby with burial there.
