Beet Growers Sign Contracts With Great Western Sugar

Mountain States Beetgrowers association members in the Billings factory district are released to contract with Great Western Sugar Co for the 1941 beet crop. Factory manager P H McMaster says individual contracts will start soon and planting will proceed rapidly on thousands of acres. Soil Fertility Rethink Spurs Livestock Feed on Irrigated Land

A January tour near Valier, Montana showcased feed lots to about 300 attendees led by Blaine Ferguson of the Conrad PCA, which helped promote adaptation on local tracts. Ferguson runs 1,500 lambs, and his son David, a 14 year old Future Farmer, contributes 10 feeder lambs in his vocational project.
