Mrs. Phoebe LaBreche Dies in Great Falls at 64

Mrs. Phoebe LaBreche wife of Phil LaBreche of this city died Wednesday in a Great Falls hospital at age 64 born December 24 1890 in Browning. Survived by husband Earl J son and Levi Burt Browning. Funeral arrangements pending.

Workers Conference of Women Missionary Federation Held in Conrad

The Evangelical church Great Falls circuit hosts a Workers conference on April 15 at the Lutheran church in Conrad. Delegates expected from Lewistown Winifred Great Falls Fairfield Dutton Walter Shelby Sunburst Cut Bank Sweet Grass Chateau and Conrad. The Conrad ladies aid serves the noon luncheon. Mrs. Mark Lindberg of Galata, president, says all are welcome.

Track suits issued to squad of nineteen men

Nineteen track prospects have received issued suits according to Coach Don Peterson. The team trains in the school gymnasium on the old track installations and faces the Northern Divisional at Great Falls the first week in May. The State Interscholastic meet follows in Missoula the next week.

Debate Set for Sunday in Pendroy Hall

The Farmington Farm Bureau unit and Pendroy unit meet in Cornett hall diny on Sunday April 17 at 4 00 p m to debate the resolution price supports on farm commodities hurt the economy. Mountain States Telephone completes Chateau installation

The Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company completes an 18721 dollar cable relief and extension project in Chateau. District Manager H C Henderson says the upgrade allows regrades and new service in many parts of town, with rural developments north and east gaining cable. The town shows growth with 268 new telephones since 1950, bringing Choteau to 822 telephones. single party lines available on application.

Policy Court Fines Driver for Improper Passing

In Justice J. M. Suilgrove's court Helmar R Trost Brathy on April 6 was fined 10 dollars for an improper passing incident. Si Van De Riet on April 8 received a 10 day suspended sentence for drunkenness. Women of the Moose Homemaking Chapter met April 11 at their hall for a birthday party after the business session honoring Floyd Mc Farlane Joan Pithoud and Ilene Johns. Next regular meeting set for April 25 at 8 PM.

GOC Open House Planned at Moose Hall Chateau

Charlie 44 Black and Chateau GOC post announce an open house at Moose Hall Chateau on April 28 1955. The event includes a lunch awards of 10 hour wings and film showings of GOC work. Mrs G L Banks and John Nordhagen lead the arrangements starting at 8 00 PM.

Easter Seal Drive in Chateau Nets 111 28 for Fund

Mrs J L Gleason Drive Chairman of the Montana Society for Crippled Children announced Easter Seal contributions from a lily sale held here. Girl Scout Troops assisted and raised 101 28 with 10 00 in coin containers making a total of 111 28. 91 7 percent of funds stay in state.

Achievements Of Former Chateau Vo Ag Instructor

A. Johnson, Montana state director of vocational education and state supervisor of vocational agricultural education, has dedicated nearly thirty years to public service. He mentored thousands of rural youths, helped Montana’s FFA program grow, and earned national honors including the first American Farmer degree awarded to a Montana member. The Flathead Chapter and Huntley Project Chapter have won multiple national gold emblem awards, with several Montana youths serving as national FFA officers. Continued on Page 4.

Unofficial Results of Chateau High School Levy Vote

Unofficial returns show the high school levy of 4 mills to raise $20,000 carried district wide. In Chateau District the count was 119 for and 19 opposed. District No 12 had 12 for and 45 against. District No 61 4 for and 11 against. District No 62 6 for and 9 against. Other districts reported various margins.

Shirley McFarren daughter of Mr. and Mrs Ed McFarren of Choteau wed Dean Caum son of Mr. and Mrs R Caum of North Sacramento California in an Easter double ring ceremony.
