Chateau science students win a Grand Award two superior ratings two excellent ratings and one good rating at the State Science Fair in Missoula last weekend. Mary Hensley CHS junior is Grand Award winner and earned a superior rating for her project A Diagnostic Test for Cognitive Development. She will represent Montana at the International Science Fair in Kansas City May 10 14. Her brother Frank Hensley also earned recognitions for San Francisco congress opportunities.

Meeting Planned To Reorganize For Ball Season
A re organizational meeting for the City Recreation Baseball Program is set for next Friday April 16 at 8 p m in Moose Hall. Jim Arensmeyer president urges all parents and any interested adults to attend to support the program benefitting more than 100 children. A door prize baseball glove will be awarded to a attending parent’s son. An election of officers for the coming year will also be held.

Stores to Close for Friday Services
Most Chateau stores will close from 1 to 3 p.m. on Good Friday April 9 to allow staff to attend church services. Residents are advised to plan shopping accordingly with all locations reopening at 3 p.m. for the remainder of the day.
Snow readings rise in Sun River and Teton areas
April 1 snow measurements show higher readings than March 1 at six sites. Goat Mountain reports 50.2 inches of snow and 16.1 inches of water. Mount Lockhart and Wrong Ridge also show high snow and water totals with multiple comparisons to three year averages. Ray Mills of the U S Forest Service notes overall increases.

Two Choteau Wrestlers Reach Regional Meet
George Tolliver and Dick Arensmeyer, both eighth graders from Choteau, placed first and fourth at the state wrestling championships in Ronan and qualified for the 1971 Regional Wrestling Championship in Baker on April 17. Tolliver led 95 105 pounds with four decisive wins, while Arensmeyer placed fourth after three wins and two losses, ending with an 11 3 season record.

John A. Olsen Services Held Here Monday
Funeral services for 89 year old John Axel Olsen were conducted at Banks Chapel on Monday. Olsen, born January 4, 1882 in Richmond Utah, died Friday at Chateau where he had lived since December. He and Leona Venetz operated Springdale Dairy in Great Falls and farmed in the Sun River Valley before later moves. Surviving are his widow seven children sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Rev Ferguson officiated with music by Mrs Ballantyne and pallbearers including Gordon Mills and others.
