Graveside Rites Held Yesterday For Ira Ritenour
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday at Hillside Cemetery in Conrad for Ira Thornton Ritenour 86 a Pendray farmer who died Monday at Teton Memorial Hospital in Choteau Rev Allen Adams of the Choteau United Methodist Church officiated Ritenour was born at Fort Valley Virginia and graduated from Washington and Lee University before moving to Pendroy Montana in 1918 He farmed until 1952 He married Mary Edna Creek on June 30 1926 and she died in 1932 He married Jessie Harcuff on June 27 1951 Survivors include two daughters Mrs Vernon Sylvester Elke Nev Mrs Robert Rosemary Snodgrass Pendroy a brother Emory Conrad and a sister Mrs Edna Hanka San Diego

Farmers Urged To Inspect Stored Grain
Rex Manuel chair of the Teton ASC committee urges all farmers to inspect stored grain for insect infestations heating high moisture or musty conditions. Contamination by birds mice or other pests is a serious issue with several cars of wheat halted for contamination. Contaminated wheat is not eligible for price support and will sell as feed if diverted. Farmers should contact Extension Service local warehouseman or a professional exterminator for advice.

Wildlife Society Meeting Held in Bozeman
The Northwest Section of the Wildlife Society held its annual meeting in Bozeman March 25 and 26 with attendees from Alaska Idaho Montana Oregon Washington Alberta British Columbia Northwest and Yukon Territories. Montana Fish and Game biologists Al Schallenberger and John Weigand and U S Forest Service ranger Bob Richmond represented the local area. Topics covered included wildlife management ecological uses of fire and logging and predator and habitat ecology. Weigand presented Mercury in Hungarian Partridge and Montana environments. Frank Dunkle and Dr Carl McIntosh welcomed attendees. Chet Huntley gave the banquet address.

Hay Fire Destroys Six Tons at Stenson Farm West of Fairfield
Two county fire trucks responded to Gerald Stenson's farm west of Fairfield on Monday. Firemen and neighbors moved hay away from buildings to prevent spread. About six tons burned. cause was determined as careless smoking. Sheriff Al Becker coordinated Chateau rural and Fairfield crews.
