Pendroy residents recount a dog feared to have rabies last week. Harry Swanson and others tried to move the animal to his place. the dog suddenly acted mad, bit himself, and leaped violently as the car stopped near a garage.

Young Timers Elect Leslie Burns Head of Group for Year
Leslie Burns was elected president of the Young Timers at the annual dinner dance at Legion hall. Christie Field became vice president and Dorothy O'Neil won secretary treasurer. Outgoing officers were Hob Gronberg Fred Meadows and Eddie Howard. The banquet drew 141 members and a program with Ernie Thorne's orchestra followed.

The city of Choteau set up 116 new street and avenue signs plus house numbers this week. Signs for original subscribers are up, with 12 more to be ordered after full payments. Nonpaying residents will receive numbers after payment. Lions Club and city officials promoted this improvement, the first of its kind in town.

Rainbow Girls to Attend Services and Initiation
The Rainbow Girls of Choteau assembly No. 54 will attend church services at Trinity Lutheran church at 9 am Sunday April 8. They should arrive at the Masonic Temple between 8:30 and 8:45. 63 000 Fish To Be Placed In Local Area
The state fish and game commission plans to plant 63 000 fish yearly for five years in the Chateau area to boost streams and lakes. Rainbow fingerlings will be split as 25 000 per year for Pishkun reservoir and 10 000 for Eureka lake with the balance to other county waters. Public access must remain if plantings proceed and posted waters must be opened for fishing. Landowners wanting openings should notify the Teton Sportsmen's Association.

Four candidates file to fill school district 1 trustee posts in Choteau. The election is Saturday April 7 from noon to 6 pm at the Choteau grade school with two three year terms and one one year term up for grabs. Deer Killing Suspect Pleads Guilty In Teton Case
James M. Hughes, a rancher from the upper Teton, pleaded guilty in Judge James Sulgrove's court to unlawful killing and possession of deer parts. He received a $200 fine and 30 days in jail, suspended. Game Wardens T W Emmett and Keith Burke made the arrest after reports of indiscriminate deer slaying along the Teton. Evidence tied to a doe killed near Twin Lakes which would have borne two fawns this spring.

Boy Hit by Jeep Near Fire Station in City
Dean Baker seven son of Mr and Mrs Chet Baker of Chateau was struck by a jeep as he darted from an alley near the city fire station while running to investigate a grass fire. He suffered a broken right arm and a probable concussion but is not expected to be seriously disabled. The jeep driven by Barney McClue a Cho volunteer fireman entered the alley from First Street as McClue answered a call at city hall. The accident happened at 6 p.m. and the boy was knocked into the air then landed beside the alley road. He is recovering at home.
