Maurice Black named chief of police with Leon Gollehon as night marshal. discussions included police phone service after hours and street lighting plans. An appraisal of city lots in Hirshberg’s addition was set at $250 for some blocks and $125 for others. TV antenna permits were approved for several residents.

Measurements on snow courses along the Teton river and at Benchmark were completed Saturday by Joe Wirak of the Soil Conservation Service and Dave Terry of the Forest Service. Moisture content and snow depth were recorded with comparisons to April 1 1956 data for Waldron Creek West Fork Fright Creek Five Bulls and Benchmark noting lower snow depth and moisture in 1957.

Preliminary Plans Made for Pageant in Teton County
A meeting at the county courthouse on March 28 discussed a proposed historical pageant for Teton County in 1958 to mark the 65th anniversary. The Sons and Daughters of Teton County’s oldest Settlers led the talk with Ernest Weist and Mrs. Gordon Monkman, and plans called for underwriting by other groups and community service projects. Burglary defendants freed on bonds in Tokerad raid
Four of five men charged in the March 20 burglary at the Torah Tokerad chicken house were released on $1000 bail each, naming Pete Villa Marvin Gongales Marvin La Pier and Floyd Poitra held on the same terms. They pleaded not guilty before Judge Hattersley. Toralf Tokerud, 57 Power farmer, posted $2500 bail on a voluntary manslaughter charge tied to the same night and pleaded not guilty. Cases to be scheduled for a later jury term.
