Ruby River Project Revives Historic Montana Valley

Edward W. Ritchie outlines the Ruby river project in Montana funded by public works and the state water conservation board. The 40 000 acre foot storage near Alder will irrigate 30 000 acres, retire the loan by 1967, and boost local ranches with a dam of earth and rock, an 110 foot height, 1 100 feet long, and a 600 foot outlet tunnel. The plan links Alder Virginia City and the historic era to modern prosperity through irrigation and recreation.
