21st annual Fun Feed draws 500 in Teton County

About 500 rural residents attended the 21st annual Fun Feed at the Teton high school. University of Montana Chancellor George A. Selke spoke on good fun, praising County Agent Raymond Kelly and the Fun Feed committee. Activities included a banquet, band, various acts, and dancing with the Dirkes orchestra ending the evening.

Electors to choose three trustees in Saturday district election

Voters in school district 1 will cast ballots Saturday from 12 noon to 6 pm at the grade school for three year terms. Incumbent Earl Hollar Eddie Howard and C Gibson Monkman seek seats. John L. Dunckel runs unopposed for a two year term. The five member board includes holdovers C G Pass nore Tom Liscom and the new electees.

Baseball Club Meeting Set at Chateau House

All persons interested in baseball are asked to meet at the Chateau house club room Wednesday night April 9 at 8 o clock.

Municipal Band Plans Reorganization Meeting Monday

The Choteau Municipal band will reorganize at an 8 o'clock meeting in the high school auditorium next Monday night. All local musicians are urged to attend and join. Plans include street concerts and rodeo events for summer. The Havre music festival May 10 will feature the Chateau high school band among about 30 groups, first such attendance since the war. A booster club for the high school band is organized with Jack Hinman as president and Mrs. Arnold Hanusa as secretary treasurer. A uniform committee for twirlers has been appointed. The band is city sponsored.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Reorganizing Meeting

The VFW Auxiliary at Chateau plans a special meeting next Thursday night April 10 to reorganize. Duane Baker reports eligibility and invites interested women to attend at a not yet announced venue with Great Falls VFW Auxiliary officials expected. Call 114M after tomorrow for location.

Illinois Oil Operator Jarvis Dies in Peoria

E P Jarvis independent oil operator of Decatur Illinois died at Peoria Tuesday evening after a heart attack. He worked with his younger brother Sam and Al Marcel of Decatur and held extensive mid continent oil interests. The group drilled near Pendroy in Teton county for three years making Choteau a summer HQ, with Henry Quane of Anaconda fire department visiting Choteau yesterday.

Roxy to Show Only Select Films After Policy Change

The Roxy theater announces a new policy after a U S District Court ruling allowing independent exhibitors to book films from all major companies. The move ends block bookings with Columbia and RKO and aims to present only high entertainment value pictures such as Sinbad the Sailor Blue Skies Up in Mabels Room and The Jolson Story during April and beyond. Gail Homan the Roxy manager says the theater will bid competitively and select films from all studios.

Montana teachers in five Teton county towns discussed raising salaries to meet MEA minimum standards. Fairfield aims to fund full MEA wages via a special levy. Easter Egg Hunt Set for Choteau Kids This Saturday

Choteau invites all children to hunt eggs this Saturday afternoon. Protests against the appraisal of Teton County high school property were filed in district court on technical grounds. Six Choteau Residents Obtain Private Flying Licenses
