Downtown Childress Sets Sidewalk Sale and Meetings

Local merchants hold a third annual September sidewalk sale this Saturday in Childress with reduced prices. The Childress Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event. The Childress World War I Veterans group meets at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Veteran's Building. Former Childress resident J. T. Robinson, 66, dies in Levelland. funeral services in Levelland tomorrow at Smith Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Audrie, two daughters Glenda Bowman and Marie Hatfield, three brothers and three sisters. The Commerce Carnival runs through Saturday at the southeast corner of Fair Park with rides booths and refreshments managed by Mrs. Hazel O’Donnell.
