The City of Childress bought 18,000,600 gallons and the City of Quanah 25,000,000 gallons from Greenbelt Municipal and Industrial Water Authority in August. Quanah now uses all Greenbelt water. Childress still draws from wells and no longer uses water from lakes. A control-pipeline contract from Lelia Lake Creek to both cities is to be set at today’s 2 p.m. engineers’ meeting, with Greenbelt directors next meeting on September 9.
