Adlai E. Stevenson captured 22 of Florida's 28 Democratic convention votes ahead of Kefauver as Krax 219275 to 208277 with Eisenhower dominating Knowland in the Republican race. Stevenson claimed strong southern support and a moral victory for Kefauver after a late close tally across 1,730 of 1,779 precincts. Stevenson won 24 at large delegates and carried five congressional districts. Kefauver won three districts.
