Final Rites Friday For Red Mills 71
Funeral services for Alpheus Lee Red Mills will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Carey First Baptist Church with Rev. Burl Bumpus officiating. Mills, 71, died late yesterday in Childress General Hospital. Burial in Carey cemetery under Newberry Funeral Home. He was born March 28 1906 in Hamilton County and moved to Carey in 1912. He married Mamie Arnold in 1925 in Childress. Survivors include two daughters Sue Rippy and Sally Heckathorn a son Jeep Mills two brothers C E Mills Slick Mills two sisters Lennie Diggs and Frankie Long nine grandchildren seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers: J C Sloss Columbus Blewellen Nick Mills Garland Nations Preston Price Sammy Crawford.
