Mrs. E O Maples, former Childress resident now of Minden Louisiana, died Monday. Funeral arrangements are in complete. She was a FW D coach painter in Childress. The Maples left Childress in 1923. Survivors include her husband, three daughters, three sons and 43 grandchildren. She was sister to Irwin and W L Jordan and Valta Johnson and aunt to Mrs J H Evans, all of Childress.

Charles E. Chappell died Monday afternoon at 6 o clock in Childress General Hospital at age 82. Born in Missouri on November 25 1872 he moved to the county nine years ago and was a retired mail carrier. Burial is in Logan cemetery Logan Oklahoma under Newberry Funeral Home. The body lies in state at Shalluck Oklahoma until services. Survivors include daughter Mrs J W Drake Childress and two sons Leon Chappell Carrouzell Texas and Ralph Chappell Washington.
