Walter F. Carter 85 died Tuesday at Childress General Hospital. Funeral held at First United Methodist Church with Dr. J. E. Shewbert officiating and burial in Childress Cemetery. Born January 26 1884 in Arkansas he moved from Fort Worth to Childress in 1908. He was a retired farmer and stockman. He married Talula Ellen King in 1907. she died in 1961. Survivors include one son two sisters two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
