Local officers with city police and county sheriff’s departments caught three Fort Benning AWOL soldiers wanted for an armed service station robbery in Guthrie. The trio, Merle Hunter Howard Highers and John Brown, were arrested about 5:30 am three miles north of Childress on Highway 83 with a 45 caliber pistol. Over $130 in cash was recovered.
