Dishes brought by attendees remained to be picked up at Lois Shop. Leftover sandwiches were sold at the football game by the Friends of the Library concessions.

15 Year-Old Rescued After 24-Hour Sandstone Well Collapse
Fifty rescuers from Lenore and Williamson WV dug a new shaft and tunneled to 15-year-old Leonard Boyce after the well caved in Friday. He was recovered around 4 p.m. Saturday with frostbitten toes but no broken bones and remained under hospital observation for 24 hours. A helmet and wooden head shield likely saved him as cave-ins slowed the rescue. The youth, a high school sophomore, thanked rescuers and said he would sleep.

The summer’s strongest cold front brought record low temperatures to North Texas and caused rain that raised the Rio Grande. Register at Fair Park Auditorium from 12 to 6 p.m. Donors who have family members needing transfusions this year should return two pints per one used. Blood is kept as whole blood for 21 days then processed into serum albumin gamma globulin fibrinogen and vaccinia immune globulin. The Red Cross remains the sole source of these products in the United States.
