New York, Sept 30 Calif ornia table grape market held steady with good demand. Tokays in crates 1.56 to 1.60, in tugs 1.66, Beed 1.25 to 1.40 crates, 1.10 to 1.60 in lugs, clusters 1.40 to 1.65 crates, 1.50 to 2.00 in lugs. About 75 cars daily. California juice grapes strong early then eased as arrivals rose and holidays occurred. Alicante 1.35 to 2.25, Infandels 1.25 to 1.76, Muscats 0.95 to 1.25, Carignanes 1.36 to 1.60, Petite Shah 1.35 to 1.60, Malvoe 1.35 per lug.

Maine Potatoes Reach New York In Good Condition

New York notices report Maine potatoes arriving in fair quantities with good quality. Prices vary by region, with Aroostook county growers paid up to 3.50 per 165 pound barrel and some reports at 3.00. Harlem River deliveries quoted at 3.25 per 160 pounds, with markets firm and stock quality described as very good.

Michigan Onion and Potato Movements In Grand Rapids

Potatoes good quality but loading limited by weather with total Michigan shipments about 1 000 cars behind last year and 2 000 behind two years ago. Bids at country points 80 to 85 cents a bushel.

Potatoes Move Heavy From Minnesota This Week

Carloads of Minnesota and Red River Valley potatoes shipped daily exceed 300 cars with harvest underway across the state. Rain in Wisconsin and Minnesota slowed digging at times, but no damage reported from cold. Storage anticipated, with strong demand from Red River regions and white table potatoes fetching around $1.85 per cwt. By Sept 24 total season shipments: Minnesota 4,188 cars, Wisconsin 1,706 cars, North Dakota 433 cars, South Dakota 159 cars.

In Chicago on September 30 the grape jobbing market loosened as holiday demand waned and bad weather limited buyers. Muscats traded about 90 cents to $1.05, Zinfandels at $1.35 to $1.40, and Alicantes at $1.50 to $1.60 per box.

San Benito Sept 30 A total of 450 000 boxes of grapefruit will move from the Lower Rio Grande Valley between October 1 and December 15. State and federal inspectors based the estimate on shipping permit applications and said 20 inspectors would oversee fruit inspections, meeting with shippers and growers as the citrus shipping season opens October 1.

Dealers have closed packing sheds. total shipments exceed 2,508 carloads versus 2,700 last season.
