Laredo Texas November 10 Onion growers in Webb county and north of here have transplanted onions for ten days and expect to finish by December 10. Plants are vigorous and with favorable weather good onions are anticipated. Soil moisture is ample with irrigation needed only in spots. Some growers seek financing, which may limit plantings. Acreage could be larger than last year.
Chicago November 10 The Fruit and Vegetable Brokers Association will hold its annual convention January 16 and 17 at the Sherman Hotel. The meeting coincides with the American Fruit and Vegetable Shippers Association, enabling joint sessions. A large broker delegation is expected with J H Bawden of St Louis president and other elected officers listed.
Vegetables show varied supply with leaf greens in moderate to liberal supply and prices easing. Leaf lettuce endive and escarol priced around $1.25 per hamper and $3 per barrel for endive. Spinach, turnips, parsley, mustard greens and other greens sold at lower rates, while okra, beans, butter beans, peppers and eggplants held steady. Express shipments progress as national markets open and volume rises.

Chicago reports cabbage prices slipped further this week with f o b prices down a dollar or more over the past seven days Wisconsin Holland offered at 6 7.50 a ton and most sales around 6 f o b. Weak demand due to mild weather kept movement light while local jobbers were around 16 a ton for small bagged lots.
New York reports up to Thursday 23 cars of Florida oranges offered at auction with mostly ordinary quality and pale color. Market steady early week, rose about 50 cents on Thursday. general range 3.25 to 5.50 per box. Grapefruit offerings total 30 cars. market eased midweek with prices about 25 cents lower than prior week. range 3.00 to 5.00, high Indian River fruit up to 6.25. Macon Ga November 10 The Georgia Produce Company a small concern on Poplar Street engaged in poultry fruits and vegetables filed a voluntary bankruptcy petition this week Liabilities are around 3000 assets substantially less than that amount and the company has been in business for some time
Memphis November 10 inquiry into Ellwood-Tinsley Company at Beale and Frost streets. A J Ellwood leads the concern with Martin J Tinsley no longer connected. Queens Wilson once with Ellwood now with a large firm. Formerly tied to Central Produce Company records show liabilities around 3 million.
