Muskogee March 21. The commercial potato acreage in Oklahoma shows a material reduction this year compared with 1929 and 1928. Shortage of native second crop seed and high price of northern seed, tight money and other causes cut acreage. Weather has been favorable, no rot, vigorous seed shoots, and heavy fertilizer use. Local grower leader R. T. Payne notes acreage by region, Fort Gibson Bottoms 1020 versus 1750 in 1920, Webbers Falls Gore and Braggs 1050 acres.
