Macon Ga July 8 the peak of the Elberta peach movement has passed and the season nears its end though shipments may run into early next month. Crop estimates were revised to about 1000 cars below May 1 figures due to small sizes and low prices. The week’s shipments averaged strong markets in New York but local bids were weak with No 1 two inch peaches around 90 cents per bushel fob. Daily movement varied from 79 to 255 cars and total season shipments reached 4941 cars versus 1159 by this time last year.
