North Dakota Potato Meetings Open in Park River March 1
The North Dakota Potato Show begins March 1 at the Agricultural School assembly hall in Park River with a three day program and market and storage discussions. A Northeastern North Dakota winter fair will also run that week with exhibits in grains forage crops poultry and dairy products. The North Dakota Potato Growers Association meets March 2 on campus. Park River and the Red River valley expect a large exhibitor turnout and seed potato cultivation is a key focus.

Peach buds largely killed by February freeze in Michigan
Grand Rapids Mich Feb 23 Ninety nine per cent of Michigan peach buds are believed killed by the February 8 9 cold wave reaching 16 degrees below zero in the state Pomologist Stanley Johnston of the South Haven horticultural experiment station and H D Hootman of East Lansing quoted. Cherry buds show slight damage though peaches bear the brunt. Only about one live bud in 450 cuttings remains likely to bear fruit and some may not set.
