Paris reports the four months of mystery surrounding President Deschanel’s illness have ended as he plans to resign. Since the Montargis accident on May 23, his fight against Alness has been uphill and recovery hopes have faded. A public retirement within days is expected.
Casper Wyoming September 11. A new Mosher company supply store has been erected four miles south and east of the home camp in the Salt Creek field. The frame structure covers about 6000 square feet with an estimated cost between 2000 and 3500 dollars. The firm oversees drilling activities and owns several company towns in the area.

Reno Nevada September 16 Thirty five hours after leaving Reno no definite news has come on L Eaton in aerial mail plane 6341 who vanished near Fallon after departing Reno He was last identified 50 miles south of Eureka and 140 miles northeast of Reno Pilot Black in plane 1841 was forced to land east of Reno near Haven Nevada due to engine trouble both crews remain missing as search efforts continue.

Marion Ohio September 15 Senator Harding urged adoption of a new war prevention proposal rather than the league of nations. A message from the Women’s Harding and Coolidge club of New York urged women to preserve national conscience and warned that backing the league would mean American youths dying overseas for causes they oppose. Harding plans a comprehensive discussion of the league from the Republican view in a forthcoming front porch speech.
