White Goes Bravely to Death in Gashed Fate
Oscar W White colored, was hanged in the Rawlins penitentiary for the murder of Anderson Coffee in a Powder River bank car on August 12 1913. In his last interview he admitted lies to governor and court and said bootlegging whiskey caused the crime. He prepared for death with prayer singing and meals as his final wishes were granted.
